Welcome to the Legal Reasons Website!
Hello and thanks for stopping by.Here you will find info on,and music from, the band Legal Reasons.
Legal Reasons are two musicians and long time friends (Steve and Gary) who live in Dingwall in the north of Scotland.Having played in various bands over the years as well as a spell as a duo,a chance meeting had us forming Legal Reasons with the view to writing and recording original material as this was an area that we had never really done seriously. It also provides us a way of keeping involved in music as I have been left disabled following an accident and playing live is not really an option any more, also myself and Gary are not in the first flush of youth,ah the joys of getting old,a few more creaking joints etc,but the notes and chords don't care and music is to be enjoyed by all.
Unfortunately I only have one picture of us playing live from the old days which is a pity as it would've been cool to have a scrapbook of sorts but it's one of those things you don't think of at the time.Although there is nothing quite like the buzz of playing live,we have a small studio setup and it's certainly proving fun and a whole new learning experience, and still is,having to get to grips with hardware ,software and all these cool plugins that are available. Of course the internet has certainly made it easier for unsigned artists to get their material out there and heard by more people than ever before, plus there are a wealth of great resources for musicians on the net.
Musically our influences/likes are rock/blues including The Beatles (both as a group and individually),Taste,Status Quo,The Rolling Stones,Rory Gallagher,Eric Clapton,JJ Cale,Dire Straits,Chuck Berry, and many others. We have now set up a blog as we write and record new material,so check it out for the latest news.
Any questions or comments please get in touch, either use the contact form or post in the forum,we'll be happy to hear from you.If you have a website or know of a cool site that would be of interest please use the View Links button on the links page to share it.
